Viger-Denonville celebrates its first anniversary
On November 15, a ceremony was held in Saint-Paul-de-la-Croix, Québec, to highlight the Viger-Denonville community wind farm’s first year anniversary of operation. For the occasion, members of the Council of the Rivière-du-Loup RCM, Jean D’Amour, Minister for Transport and Implementation of the Maritime Strategy and Minister responsible for the Bas-Saint-Laurent and Gaspésie—Îles-de-la-Madeleine regions, landowners, operation and maintenance teams, along with other collaborators got together to celebrate this big rallying project. In total, about 60 people attended the event. The wind farm representatives took this opportunity to announce a $10,000 contribution to the local Centraide campaign. Since its commissioning, the Viger-Denonville community wind farm has generated important financial benefits for the twelve stakeholder communities.
