Our history

Since our foundation over 30 years ago, we have been pioneers in developing a sustainable business model based on 100% renewable energy and lasting partnerships with local communities. Over the years, we have grown into an international company with operations in Canada, the United States, France and Chile.   • Foundation of Innergex in Canada

  • Commissioning of our first hydroelectric facility in Quebec (Saint-Paulin)

  • Commissioning of our first Innergex hydroelectric facility in Ontario (Batawa)

  • Initial public offering (TSX: INE)

  • Creation of Cartier Wind Energy (joint venture between Innergex and TransCanada) First entry into the U.S. market with the acquisition of the Horseshoe Bend hydroelectric facility in Idaho Commissioning of our first hydroelectric facility in British Columbia (Rutherford Creek)

  • Opening of our Vancouver office Commissioning of Innergex's first wind farm through Cartier Wind Energy in Quebec (Baie-des-Sables)

  • Innergex becomes Innergex Renewable Energy Inc.

  • Acquisition of Cloudworks Energy Inc, an independent power producer based in Vancouver, British Columbia Acquisition of Stardale, Innergex's first solar farm, commissioned the following year in Ontario

  • Inauguration of Viger-Denonville, Quebec's first community wind farm, in partnership with the Rivière-du-Loup RCM.

  • First acquisition of seven wind farms in France, followed by two more in the same year Commissioning of the Mesgi'g Ugju's'n wind project in partnership with Quebec's three Mi'gmaq communities
