On November 15, a celebration was held in Saint-Paul-de-la-Croix to mark the first year of operation of the Viger-Denonville community wind farm. For the occasion, elected members of the Rivière-du-Loup MRC council, Mr. Jean D'Amour, Minister for Transport and the Implementation of the Maritime Strategy and Minister responsible for the Bas-Saint-Laurent and Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madeleine regions, landowners, the wind farm's operations and maintenance team and various collaborators gathered to celebrate this major project. In all, some sixty people attended. Wind farm representatives took the opportunity to announce a $10,000 contribution to the Centraide KRTB-Côte-du-Sud campaign. Since its commissioning, the Viger-Denonville community wind farm has generated significant financial spin-offs for the twelve shareholder municipalities.
