At the Gala des élus held as part of the annual congress of the Fédération québécoise des municipalités (FQM) on September 25, the Rivière-du-Loup MRC won the Municipal Leadership Award for its Viger-Denonville community wind farm project. Together with its partner Innergex, the Rivière-du-Loup RCM has succeeded in making the Viger-Denonville community wind farm an exemplary project in terms of landscape integration, social acceptability, significant economic spin-offs during construction and financial benefits for the host communities.
