About Renewable Energy
In Canada, there is a broad consensus that increasing the production of renewable energy, from Coast to Coast to Coast, should be a priority. While improving grid resiliency and fighting climate change, renewable energy projects are also an occasion to partner with local and Indigenous communities, on the path to reconciliation.
At Innergex, we have been generating renewable energy for more than 30 years in Canada, first in Quebec, then in Ontario since 1999 and in British Columbia since 2004. We were the first to partner with an Indigenous community, the Biigtigong Nishnaabeg in Northern Ontario, resulting in a 50-50 hydroelectric project that has been generating value for the community and renewable energy for the country since 2008.

We develop projects that are well integrated in their natural surroundings, protect wildlife and generate clean electricity to alleviate climate change. These projects bring substantial revenues to local communities, many of which are also equity partners in the projects.
