Respect for the land and its long history of use is central to the K2 Wind Project. Extensive environmental, archaeological, technical, and socio-economic studies are underway to inform project design and ensure potential effects are carefully understood and addressed. These studies include wildlife, vegetation, birds and bats, aquatic habitats, terrain and soils, wind resources, and archaeology, with Indigenous Knowledge and participation playing a key role throughout the process. We welcome your feedback and comments on the studies.
The K2 Wind Project is expected to create meaningful employment opportunities during both construction and long-term operations. At peak construction, the project is anticipated to support approximately 150 construction-related jobs, providing work across a range of skilled trades and services. Once operational, the project would create around 10 permanent, full-time positions to support ongoing operations and maintenance. In addition, the project is expected to generate ancillary employment opportunities through services such as road maintenance, vegetation management, and other local support activities, helping to contribute to lasting economic benefits in the region.
