Le parc éolien de Gros Morne - phase 1 a été mis en service le 29 novembre 2011. Il est situé dans les municipalités de Mont-Louis et de Sainte-Madeleine-de-la-Rivière-Madeleine, sur la péninsule Gaspésienne du Québec.
Le parc éolien a une puissance installée de 100,5 MW, et on estime que sa production annuelle sera de 308 900 MWh. Il s’agit de première phase d’un projet dont on estime la puissance installée totale à 211,5 MW, et la production annuelle à 657 623 MWh.
Un contrat d’achat d’électricité, conclu pour les phases I et II, prévoit qu’Hydro-Québec s’engage à acheter toute l’électricité qui y sera produite pendant une durée de 21 ans, à compter du début de l’exploitation commerciale du parc éolien de Gros-Morne, phase I. Le prix de l’électricité est établi au contrat et rajusté annuellement, notamment en tenant compte de l’indice des prix à la consommation.
La Société détient une participation de 38 % dans ce projet.
Innergex has begun commercial operation of Phase 1 of the Gros-Morne project on November 29, 2011. The wind farm is located in the Municipality of Mont-Louis and the Municipality of Sainte-Madeleine-de-la-Rivière-Madeleine, Québec.
Gros-Morne Phase I has 100.5 MW in installed capacity and 308,900MWh in estimated annual output. This is the first phase of a project for which the aggregate installed capacity, once completed, is estimated at 211.5 MW, with 657,623MWh in yearly output.
Under the terms of a power purchase agreement (PPA) signed for Phases I and II, Hydro-Québec has committed to buy all electricity generated at this facility for a term of 21 years effective with the start of commercial operations at the Gros-Morne Phase I wind farm. Electricity pricing is set in the contract and adjusted yearly, on the basis primarily of the consumer price index.
The Company holds a 38% interest in this project.
