History

 

Innergex team has been active in the industry of renewable energy since 1990. Under Michel Letellier's leadership, Innergex has developed strong and successful partnerships, and has acquired a solid reputation as a leader.

Innergex is recognized today as a leader in developing, building, operating, maintaining and financing renewable energy projects. Each new achievement over the years has served to build its reputation as a Canadian pioneer in the renewable energy industry.

1990: Innergex GP is founded by Gilles Lefrançois, with a mission to design, build, own and operate hydroelectric power plant in Canada.
   
1991: The Association québécoise de la production d’énergie renouvelable is established by Gilles Lefrançois.
   
1997: Michel Letellier joins the Innergex GP team, as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
   
2002: Innergex Power Income Fund is created.
  Innergex Management Inc. is formed.
   
2003: Initial Public Offering of Innergex Power Income Fund.
   
2006: The Company opens a place of business in Vancouver.
   
2007: Innergex Management Inc. changes name to Innergex Renewable Energy Inc.
  Innergex Renewable Energy Inc.'s initial public
  Gilles Lefrançois is appointed Executive Chairman of the Innergex Board of Directors 
  Michel Letellier is named President and Chief Executive Officer of Innergex Renewable Energy Inc.
   
  Gilles Lefrançois is presented with an award by Canadian Wind Energy Association in recognition of his significant contribution to the industry.
   
2008: Gilles Lefrançois is named the Quebec wind power industry’s Personality of the year.
   
2010: Gilles Lefrançois, Innergex founder, to enjoy well deserved retirement.
  Innergex Renewable Energy Inc. and Innergex Power Income Fund are strategically combined by way of reverse takeover.

2011: 

Acquisition of a first solar energy project.
  Innergex Renewable Energy Inc. completes the acquisition of Cloudworks Energy Inc. Founded in 2000, Cloudworks is an independent power producer headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, which employs 30 people. Through this acquisition, Innergex has acquired attractive assets with long term power purchase agreements which it believes will provide it with cost synergies and operational efficiencies
