An environmental mission
Innergex works exclusively in the renewable energy sector. By renewable energy, we mean non-polluting power sources such as rivers or wind.
Our current hydroelectric projects principally work with the natural flow of the water, which prevents land flooding and protects habitats.
Water: our source of life
At Innergex, we are acutely aware of the importance and value of water. That’s why we ensure that our projects respect this resource and protect the environment.
Water is at the heart of our existence. It sustains our life and keeps us healthy. It helps grow our food and is essential to our hygiene.
It is our teammate in aquatic and nautical sports and a valuable partner in a range of traditional activities. It commands respect as much as for what it can easily take away as for what it maintains: life.
With its sheer abundance, water irrigates our wilderness and our farmland; with its power, it can light up the darkness and warm up the cold. In short, it is essential for our well being.
The bounty of water in the province of Québec is immense; more than 130,000 rivers and a million lakes cover 10% of its area. But water can grow scarce or become polluted by the misuse or negligence of humankind.
